Anyone using Sigma 150-500mm DG HSM on D700 or other FX body?

Been looking at these this afternoon, reviews seem to indicate its good value considering the 500mm length and Amazon are doing them for £700.

Anyone here used it on an FX camera?

I know of someone form another forum who uses one on a D3, he seems to be happy with the combination.

I use a Sigma 150-500 OS on a D700 and am happy with the results although at 500mm it tends to be a bit soft wide open - stop down to f/11 (bump the ISO up if you need extra speed - the D700 can take it!) or so to sharpen it up a bit.

Also check out this month's WDC which compares the Siggy with the Tamron 200-500 (and the Tammy comes out on top)

thanks for the advice, I've had a bit of a rethink and decided that I'd be better off spending the money on swapping my Sigma 24-70 for the Nikon 24/28-70 instead (as it would get more use) and I've just been asked to do a wedding in the summer that I'm very excited about

What Digital Camera had the Sigma 150-500 and Tamron 200-500 in their HeadtoHead. Not only is the Tamron cheaper, but it seemed to outperform the Sigma too.

Might be worth a look?
