Anyone using the tokina 17-35?

Don't tell the MRS but i'm thinking of taking the plunge and going FX. I think i want to go with the tokina for my 1st and only lens then use the crop mode at 35mm when i need a bit more reach. At the end of the day it will still give me 16mp what i have now. Anyone using this lens?

I planned to buy it, then tried it in an exhibition and decided to run away as far as I can. It is nothing like the excellent 12-24 or 11-16 unless it was a spectacularly bad copy.

Nikon 16-35 is the way forward I'm afraid
