Anyone with a D300 and D700?

unless youre shooting high ISO, theres apparently very little in it.

There seems to be the general feeling lately that cropped sensor cameras as so inferior to their full frame alternatives. my style is better suited to cropped as i use a telephoto alot.

Hi

I've got both the D300 and D700. I'll be honest, I actually prefer the D300 and only bought the D700 as I started to shoot lots of images at night and in very low light. Certainly my D700 is better in such situations as the bigger full frame sensor is more sensitive to light at lower ISO settings. My D700 also lets me utilise the wider end of my 14-24 and 24-70 lenses whilst the D300 does not. as the images from the D700 are bigger, I get a larger image after a spot of cropping than I would from the D300.

The reality is though that other than my really low light stuff, the images from both my D300 and D700 are equaly good. In my opinion it certainly isn't worth spending the extra money on the D700 unless you really need the extra ISO performance in low light.

If you're close to me you're more than welcome to compare the two.
