Yes
using my sigma 10 - 20 mm and a cokin filter holder results in this ...

any way , other then cropping , to prevent this ?

There is a cokin wide angle P holder, only has 1 slot so it avoids vignetting like this. You will need to get one of them for your 10-20mm

I can confirm the wide holder works ok with the 10-20mm

My solution, buy a cheap copy Cokin P filter holder off eBay (loads of chinese knock offs for peanuts) and with a junior hacksaw and some fine sandpaper cut off all but the rear filter slots ( your not likely to need to stack filters so one slot should suffice) this makes the holder shallow enough to not vignette on the sigma 10-20. Seemples!

And a fraction of the cost of the Cokin WA adaptor.

You can use Adobe spot healing brush (I used Elements 9)which will remove the offending dark areas.

Just remember
Cokin holder and ring. £20
3rd party ring and holder on eBay (supply your own junior hacksaw). £2.28

Lol

........and yes I have genuine Cokin filters and filter holder and adaptor rings. The filters are superb obviously but the adaptor ring and holder are no better than the Chinese knock offs and in my opinion are a complete rip off.
