Hi, I am running Ap3 on my imac and have a Lacie rugged hard drive synced up with time machine. Will this back up files in Aperture 3 librarie or just on the imac hard drive. I am also having problems viewing the lacie on the imac, Is this because it is synced with time machine so no longer shows as lacie??
Questions questions.

The LaCie should still show as an external drive.

I use a Seagate FreeAgent Go on my Mac for Time Machine, I also use it for my SuperDuper! image backups. Whilst Time Machine is backing up, it can make a system sluggish, so this may have something to do with it.

Time Machine will backup most of the files on any drive it's given (there are some exceptions), so it should backup your Aperture 3 library too. I'd recommend backing it up manually on another drive as well (for extra safety.)

Hope that helps.

Unless you've excluded the Aperture library in the TM preferences, then it should be being backed up.
I'd suggest using Apertures "Vault" feature to back your library up though, to be absolutely certain.
I do this and exclude the library from TM as they can get quite large.
