What clothing is suitable for a Wedding etc?

I usually wear:

Dark suit jacket
Dark jeans
Shirt
Nice shoes

Is that suitable?

A suit, nothing else imho.

I've seen a few shooting in jeans/shirt/jacket but that was because the B&G requested it as it wasn't formal.

Some people can shoot in trousers/combats and a logo'd polo shirt, but for me, if you want a logo on your clothes, it should still be on a full shirt so it can be worn with a suit and tie.

Jacket can always be removed during the day and tie at night.

Always suit and tie in fact I worked for a guy in the past who did high end weddings and it was pin stripes and morning suit, great on a hot summers day
Been a guest at weddings where the tog wore a logo'd Polo shirt and heard lots of "Scruffy b****r" comments from other guests

gotta be a suit or blazer, shirt n tie and slacks at the worst case

I usually wear a suit - though i may replace the jacket with a waistcoat if the weather is warm - I find the pockets invaluable for batteries, cards etc meaning i can just carry the cameras and leave the bags in the car

I used to wear my bog standard clothes. I want to be comfortable when I work that takes precedent over anything else. Thats not going to be everybody's thoughts but it's up to you what you wear.

I wore shorts and a t shirt to the lab today cause it was hot.

Cannot belive people talking about jeans and T shirts,a professional image is paramount and as a father of 2 daughters no scruffbag will photograph my girls magic day

I'm with you Nigel, need to show some respect.

So you go commando while working  - interesting choice - I've heard about togs needing to feel unrestricted by their clothing but isnt that taking things a little far :suspect:

Well I got lots of complaints when it was just a bowler hat and a d700 :(, so it's quite an improvement for me :p
