Apple Bluetooth Keyboard

I've had my current imac a little over 3 months and in that time, I've had to charge the mouse 3 time which is pretty much what I'd expect but the keyboard is a different story. It lasted almost 3 months before needing a charge but then, just a couple of weeks later (yesterday), it had dropped to just 2%. I charged it to 100% but it's already down to 73% Could this be a fault?

Is it possible that a little friend (who should be chasing mice?) has been sat on the keyboard causing a continuous drain for a while? I know ours managed to screw up an update by sitting/standing on a critical key at a crucial moment...

I don't believe so, I've been working from home for the last 2 weeks and he's been out most of that time.
