Apple get patent on 'pinch-to-zoom' gesture

Given that "pinch" to zoom" is on so many products already and used by so many major brands in the touch device market I can only think that Apple are wasting their time.

Talk about stick your neck on the chopping block for the sake of such a small thing.

When will Apple learn that they cannot have world domination!!! :lol:
 
god, this is almost as bad as when they patented the clickwheel.

I wouldn't want to use the clickwheel idea anyway!
 
Looks to me like its not pinch-to-zoom as such, but the fact that you can other things by pinching again within a certain time that is the thing here.
 
Have they patented patents yet? That should give them some form of World domination!!!!

But that would mean apple would have to admit that there are viable alternatives to any of their products.
I don't think their corporate ego will let them do that. :lol:

according to the patent they filed it in 2006 before there were any multitouch products on the market.

I hope instead of doing it to force others not to do it, they are instead owning the patent so that nobody else can block them :shrug:
