its pretty impressive to be worth more than coca cola, mcdonalds and google, i wouldn't mind that level of sucess
 
Hmm... I just looked up brand value...

"People are willing to pay more for a brand than a product. Brand value is the extra money a company can make from its products solely because of its brand name. As an example, how much more is a consumer willing to pay for a coffee at Starbucks as opposed to a coffee at a fast-food restaurant?"

As a business I think its very good having such a high brand value.

Having been in sales for the majority of my working life - and having worked for 'Premium Brand' manufacturers desperately trying to maintain price levels in a market which only wanted to drive them down.....strength to any manufacturer who can do it:thumbs:

They may control prices......it's moot whether or not the products are 'better' than alternatives.........

But I love my iMac:love:
 
I've had my iMac now for 3 1/2 years and its still running at 80% performance compared to new. I've worked in IT and built PC's using the best available components, and within 6 months they'd run like an asthmatic donkey. Macs all the way.

Macs today are just PCs running a different OS. ;) Seriously, the difference between them is negligible most of the time. And this is coming from someone who lives in a household with an MBP, 3x iPhone 4's, numerous iPods and an Airport Extreme + Express. I like Apple's products, but to say that PCs are that fault prone is just silly.

Apple are great for workflow but dell make some of the best resolution monitors on the Market at the top end even better than apple so it's not all playing sailing for apple and don't get me wrong I love apple especially there iPhone 4

the point is that you are very knowledgable about you computer and so you know how to keep it efficient. Don't assume that your experience is the norm. the majority of the world dont know how to do this and as such suffer a gradual death of their pc.

the difference wit a mac is that it doesn't need the same level of "maintaining" so the same luddites that are suffering gradual lag on a pc aren't on a mac.

Anyone would think running a PC is a constant war with the OS!

I don't keep it efficient... I just don't install any optional software that comes with any freeware. And I uninstall anything I don't find useful. That's the level of maintenance I do - if you can call it that. Kind of like tidying up around you and binning junk mail. What I do have is a machine that is spec'd to a level and not a budget.

I'm convinced when people say their PC is running slow it's because they blindly install applications and accept all the adware that gets run at startup - thus slowing the machine start time to a crawl and clogging the (often inadequate) memory with stuff. Once the machine is up and running, the only thing that can slow the machine down (virus' excepted) is a lack of memory. Well, perhaps Johnny should have paid an extra £50 for the 4GB version of the machine in the first instance....

all of what you said is true. But the fact is the majority of people DO accept all that adware and toolbars and applications. The point is is that whether you think you are doing much maintenance or not is irrelevant - compared to the majority you are.

You must agree and know that it is a generally spoken problem that the world feels their pc's slow to a crawl over the years -surely you won't argue this. What you can argue instead is that it is their own fault this is the case and not the computers.
