I am trying to connect my friends apple laptop to my wifi. It see's the 02 connection & asks for a password. I put in the password & it says 'The password you entered is invalid'. I have tried lower case etc over & over but no joy. Thanks for any help.

Hi

Basics
Are you connecting by clicking on the wifi symbol in top rh corner of screen? I assume wifi is on if you've got to the point where you are asked for a password. I have had the same issue and sometimes it's as simple as the mac not connecting to the right network. Click on the 3 curves symbol in top rh corner, scroll down to your network and try again - hope this helps.

The O2 password will be the WEP key on the bottom of the router.

take all security off the router, try to connect.

If that doesnt work change the key and toggle between security settings, sort of trial and error.

If that doesnt work change the wireless channel.

If that doesnt work check your Airports firmware.

If that doesnt work restore the router to the latest firmware.

Simple but easily done - Make sure you're using CAPS.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I did get it working but I don't have the apple in front of me. It was changing one type of figure to the one below. I don't think it was the wep one though. If I find out I will get back. To make it worse it was all in German.:gag:

If it's WEP, you need to put a $ symbol in front of the password.
