If you are planning on real bulk work Automator is very useful, much quicker than anything similar in Windows...
 
James, thank you so much or bringing that up!
It made me investigate batch renaming, and there is a great one in automator. I haven't ever needed to batch rename, but now I know how to and I'm sure it'll be useful to me in the future.
