Apple Magic Mouse..............

..........but for a Windows PC?

Because of handling difficulties, when I use a mouse, my middle finger pushes down on the right button when my index finger presses the left. At home, I have a mac and use a Magic Mouse which negates this problem as it is a single button and you can't right & left click at the same time but, at work, I use a PC with a bog standard mouse and it gets very frustrating!

I've had a hunt around but couldn't find anything, does anyone know if a single button mouse exists for PCs?

In case anyone suggests it btw, I really don't get on with trackballs.

probably not - i dont think they had bluetooth ten years ago

but the problem is that they are aimed at kids so they are smaller than average (plus it has a cute mouse drawn on it so your work mates will take the ****)

Much as I'd love a cute little mouse with a very stylish green button, I still need to right click and definitely need the scroll wheel.

I would have thought it depends on the version of Windows you're running... USB is supported on anything after Windows 98 Release 2...

It's not the USB I'm thinking of though, more the compatibility of the bluetooth dongle. It's Windows XP btw.

microsoft make a touch mouse which is essentially the same as the apple offering, but its only supported on 7 not xp

maybe your boss could upgrade your machine, at 10 years old it probably needs it anyway - and if i'm correct in assuming from previous posts you have a disability/health issue providing a 7 machine would definitely fall into the realm of 'making reasonable adjustments' under the DDA

Running my XP partition on my iMac with bootcamp, I don't get any problems at all using my magic mouse... You should be fine using it...

What I mean is you buy a dongle that has bluetooth built into it and it is this that the moouse will connect via

I have actually got one of those somewhere (used it with my old laptop) I might see if I can find it.

I think a new Windows PC might be pushing it a bit though as I'm sure there is a cheaper solution. I know about the DDA and reasonable adjustments but personal experience says it doesn't always pay to push too hard.

No harm in asking, our HS dept approved a £100 mouse for one user. And ask your IT dept nicely (think pack of jaffas ) sometimes we have newer machines stashed away for nice people with biscuits and/or cake

Oh they're quite happy to stump up for a mouse, but our IT dept haven't got any Windows 7 PCs stashed away anywhere, that's for certain.
