I was just watching some of the guided tours about the iPad:

http://www.apple.com/ipad/guided-tours/

it occurred to me that Apple seem to personify it as if it is a person, did they do this with the iPhone and iPod?

They don't say "You can view your photos on your iPad" or "the iPad" but simply "you can view photos on iPad"

anyone else find this a bit weird?

I find the whole 'apple' thing weird tbh, they dont seem to care what you need in a device just that it looks 'pretty' although saying that I do own an iphone and do swear at it A LOT is that personifying it

lol, I think you'll find Apple do the exact opposite of that. They think about what don't you need in a device and then emit that and concentrate on the main things you do need.

This for some people means that they miss lots of things out that are really important to them - like flash on the iphone and iPad, and many other things. But for the general public which is who they sell to it has all the main things you need and none of the gumpf.

personifying it is just plain weird though
