Apple WWDC 2011

Have to say I had a quick browse of the features and thought it looked more aimed at bringing the tablet/phone experience to the desktop. Not sure how useful/wanted that is...

I must admit I was somewhat puzzled by the new 'features' of the icloud. The syncing across devices of iCal and contacts data - and the sharing of calendars - is not new. It's working perfectly for me at the mo under mobileme.

Yes but it is now free! Also you get 5gb of storage not including apps photos and if you you sign up for match at $25 per year then not for music either.

Some of cloud is just free mobile me, but there are some really interesting things for me personally. Air drop will also be useful as I have more than one mac in the household.

ios5 has taken a lot of the stuff blackberry and android users have been saying is missing and made them.

I am impressed with all they have offered, but then again I usually am. :geek:

Well I've been playing with the iOS5 beta this morning on both my iPhone 3gs and iPad and some features are very cool indeed

The split keyboard works really nicely on the iPad

The reader function and tabs in safari are great

The iMessage thing is really cool, now it will mean i don't pay for text messages at all since nearly everyone i text has an iphone or ipad

The notifications on the iphone are great and the drag down works well

I don't use the camera much but it does feel much better pressing the volume button to take the shot and the exposure lock works well

Trying to work out the wireless sync to itunes though, and it's not forthcoming

ok so it looks like the wireless itunes sync isnt available yet in beta 1.

im sending myself imessages though just for the fun of it! the notifications is really neat

But with most plans being unlimited texts anyway..

Btw, what happens tonexisting mobile me subscribers who are using it to host a website (as am I) ? Can't see anything about that online....

im not on a plan and neither are most people I know, pay and go all the way

It appears that iweb will continue - but not the hosting. You will have to host your iweb created sites elsewhere :(

And the MobileMe Gallery will also go the same way as it relies on the same hosting. Just when I started to make good use of the Gallery. :bang: :bat:
