April showers

Hi. I thought this would be a suitable April photo. It is one from my 12 month long 'journey' with film. It's a decidedly cheap and cheerful journey compared to what many people in this corner of the forum are doing. I am using simple 35mm camers which cost next to nothing, get the film processed by Ag Photographic, scan the negatives on an old Cannon flatbed scanner, and then edit in GIMP.

Thoughts welcome on the photo and any weak points in the above mentioned process.

Thanks for looking,

On the photo, I really like the light umbrella which catches and draws the eye.

On your process, I use a flatbed scanner (Epson in my case) and Photoshop CS2 for editing. There are negative comments (pun unavoidable) about the quality from flat beds, but if the quality of the end print and/or final display size on screen meets your requirements, that's all that matters.

You might find it cheaper depending on your volumes to do your own processing though. With black and white, it's simple.
