Arca plate for D5100

Anybody found an affordable Arca compatible plate for a Nikon D5100?

I find the generic ones tend to rotate too much in portrait more. Don't really fancy paying £100+ for a Kirk L plate. Especially as I don't actually need an L plate - a landscape format plate will do.

probably a bit on the expensive side!
Search WEX used section they crop up fairly often, or ebay a generic one!

Or a regular rubberised AS plate should be okay if it's long enough? Some other options on CG-UK.

Ah - I thought that would be perfect until I saw it wasn't suitable for cameras with flip out screens

I guess I'll just try and screw a rubberised one down tight. I've had problems with them rotating though.

If only Nikon would put dual tripod sockets on their cameras.......

LOL never thought about that. Get a long plate, say 70mm or maybe this 85mm jobbie might still clear the battery compartment http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-B...163?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item48467a3fd3 That would probably be okay, or to make sure, double-sided tape underneath would fix it.

It would great if camera manufacturers just had AS rails built in to the base and left-hand side. Easy, simple, neat, and a really annoying little problem solved. Why is it that video cameras/heads have anti-rotation pins, even though video cameras never get turned to vertical?
