Argghh Dust on the Sensor

I noticed a few very small dust bunnies whilst processing a couple of weekend shots.

So I decided to give the sensor a blast with a rocket blower. I just made the damn thing worse. Some very visible pieces of dust are now well and truly stuck to the sensor and very visible in any shot.

Why didn't I just leave it alone :bang:

Sorry I just needed to vent...

I had a major dust/dirt problem on my D40

bought some swabs, fluid and a blower to get rid of it

I know some don't like them but I swear by my arctic butterfly and sensor loupe..not cheap but then again nor is a professional clean...lots of threads on sensor cleaning with some great alternatives and precautions etc..;)

Thanks for the replies. I was venting really. So frustrating that using the blower managed to adhere some really big crappy bits of dust that weren't going to move. A bit like that big black blob bottom middle of Mattk's image!

In the end with a bit of frustration I took to the sensor with some cleaning fluid and some cotton buds. A bit rash really. I'm not that proud and it was very difficult to get a result without smearing.

But it has given me the confidence to go for it and try it properly using that excellent link from RobertP.

Glad that old post of mine is still some help :)

Cotton buds were not a good idea though as they are not lint free.
