I know it will be a stupid question but here goes ...
how do you make the flash gun work ?? have tried it on and off camera it will fire when i press test but wont on manual or af have ensured it is on ttl for af and m for manual
its a jessops 360afd
what am i doing wrong ???

Hello again :)

It won't work off camera without something to trigger it, like a lead between it and the camera or a radio/infra red trigger.

On camera you simply fix it to your hotshoe till it clicks and then it should fire when you press the shutter (once its ready of course)

It is designed for your camera make though isnt it?

Ste

i have a nikon d90 and a flash cord
i put it on the hot shoe and also on the cord but to no avail do i need to do something else ???

Make sure you don't have it set to one of the slave settings as this disables the power input on the foot of the flash.

Well I don't know anything about Nikon I'm afraid, but I would have thought everything would be pretty much the same as Canon, in this regard. Unless something is broken, the only thing I can think of is maybe there is an option in the menu somewhere to disable the hotshoe? Are you sure Jessops sold you the correct version of flash gun? I don't think a canon version would work on a nikon camera for instance (may be wrong though)

It's getting muddled here.....

if you put the 360AFD into slave mode and fire the onboard/pop-up flash on your D90 does the 360 fire too?
