Hi i'm fairly new to photography and I'm looking for a budget camera that can take images that I'm able to zoom in using photoshop without it pixelating, the link below shows an image taken with the Canon G9 or so the guy says, if you zoom into the image you will see that you can zoom in a fair bit before it loses quality, Now I bought a Kodak Z1485 14MP hoping that I could take the same quality of images, but it seems its not all about how many Mega-pixels you have, can anyone tell me what I should be looking for in a camera for taking good zoomable shots like the one I provided the link for below. also I should taking I'm on a budget.

sorry if adding the link breaches any of the forum rules, its the best way to explain what I mean. thanks in advance.

It's a mixture of things.

Lens quality, setting and sensor quality.

Lens is the thing that directs the light onto the sensor.
Sensor is the thing that actually captures light that creates the picture.
Settings mean a variation of ISO, Aperture and Shutter speed - I suggest you wikipedia these.

To be honest mate it's not really possible to tell what sort of camera is best just by looking at specifications, it's a variety of things, and so you need to read reviews.
The Canon Powershot G series are well known for clarity, along with the Panasonic Lumix FZ series, so have a look at them.

So many people fall prey to the pixel marketing tactic in that end of the market.
