I think the first one doesn't work because of the location, an Aston doesn't belong on a mud track in a field.

The angle of the second is too high, its a bit soft, and the windscreen reflections are off putting.

The third doesn't work for me because of the lighting, the B pillar is off putting, and the centre of the dash is OOF.

The locations don't match the beauty of the car, unfortunately.

Sorry to say but I don't think that you've done this wonderful car any justice:

The first one, I think that this could have been dramatically improved by getting a lower PoV and doing that would have helped you hide things like the fence post in the BG but in reality the location has not helped you as you would have still had the metal gate  on the plus side the exposure has been really well managed with this one

The second photo, I can see what you were going for with this but there is too much of the car over exposed such are the location of the badge on the bonnet  and the front of the car is a little soft, finally I can see you were going for the effect of speed with this but I think you needed more motion blur...

The final image, sorry I'm struggling to find the focus on this, and the OOF door frame is a real distraction...

I'm sorry for the negativity in this post but I hope that you can see where these could be improved (y)

:| back to the drawing board then

I think the first has a bit of potential. Lighting is good but as said location isn't ideal (but I must say I struggle myself to think of places). A straighten and a bit of cloning helps I think, I've done a quick edit to show you what I mean (I can remove it if you like)

I dont think the composition works on the 2nd one and as said not enough motion blur.

Last one would have been a good one if it wasn't for the blurry door frame.

I agree with this,

I think the wonky horizon was a bit distracting,

As for location, short of doing a trackday in it or finding a closed track / nice road it wouldn't be cheap to find a location where the Aston belongs (someone feel free to correct me)

Still, I'm liking the colours (is desaturated the phrase im not sure) but whatever PP it is it feels quite cool.

Lovely cars, as has been said, the first 2 photos taken from too high up (and why is it off road in #1?) though and the pillar spoils the last one.

Very easy to find locations that would be appropriate to shoot it...
Pretty much all of the locations of all of my photos I take are locations which I've found...

A location like a country house/mansion, big posh hotel would be good, number 1 would be great if there was a big manor halfway up the track imo, number 2 doesnt do it for me because the lens angle and focal length dont suit, again imo, if using such a wide angle i would have gone slightly lower, as for number 3 i thought it was cool at first glance apart from the pillar until i noticed the centre of the dash, all 3 are better than i can do though i bet so just my (very amateur) opinion.
Lovely car though and thanks for sharing,
Cliff

A muddy field isn't the ideal place to show that car but that said, aside from the gate and the rough ground in front of the car, I A) like the angle and composition, B) really like the lighting, and C) like the processing a lot. Simulate the conditions and match the processing (etc) elsewhere and it'll be a cracking shot. Shooting it in the gardens of a posh house or suchlike is predictable and done to death, as is going for the gritty, urban (ugly Vs beauty) location. Find somewhere that makes the car sing and compliments its colour.

The second shot, the setting is good (probably a good one to try shot 1 in), as it's neutral, although I can't quite see that much of it because of the shooting angle. Anyway, I just don't get anything from this shot other than it's a moving car and that it has a loooooooong bonnet. The image doesn't really show much else of the car, not even a hint of the shape like the first shot does.

I like the lighting and mood in the interior shot and although I really don't go for these kinds of shots, as it's just an interior of an expensive car to me). The big out-of-focus area on the right is distracting.

I don't particularly like these cars as a whole - dead boring to look at - but I think you're deffo on the right track to getting a really good set, just with a few tweaks to framing and location and not going down the well-trodden route that so many people go down.....(y)

I liked the photos until I read the comments! I feel like I've been in class & teacher has told us where the mistakes are. I agree with much of what's been said, & have taken it on board. For example, although I don't have an Aston even with my Focus it wouldn't seem right 'in the country'. Neither the country house though :) . Anyway having read this I feel 'educated' thanks chaps :D

I'm going to go against the grain and say I really like number 1. Astons don't neccesarily belong in a muddy field, but so what. I think if you had scooched to the left a bit and got a bit more of the car in, with the golden lighting it would have looked a treat. Second I can see what you were trying to do but don't think it quite worked due to the narrowness of the lane and the soft focus. A nice tree lined avenue might work with the leaves and stuff as well. For all anyone knew it could have been "mad Lord Montagues' afternoon runaround"

Third, again I can see what you are trying to do. The OOF center doesn't bother me as much as the more obvious B pillar. Perhaps if you caught the start up sequence with the Power, Beauty, Soul thing going on it might be a bit more interesting.
