Ok strictly not photographic as Grimshaw was an oil painter but for anyone who appreciates the use of light in an image his pictures are a must, most of his paintings are done at night, usually in moonlight, they are truley stunning, the exhibition is on at the Mercer Gallery in Harrogate. Silver moonlight and Moonlight Wharfedale are especially amazing.
This will be the first major exhibition in over thirty years, devoted to Grimshaw. It brings together over 50 major works and is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see paintings by this celebrated self-taught artist, including many works not seen in public for decades and generously lent by private collectors.
