A set of pictures that illustrate what happened to me yesterday as I was walking
through the Royal Botanic Gardens too close to a nesting Plover (we call them Lapwings).
Pictures are far from perfect but when one is being dived and swooped at by a bird that has a nasty spike
on the leading edge of each wing, one does not spend a lot of time with eyes glued to monitor whilst scrolling his camera menu.
