I noticed aurora visible to the naked eye on Monday evening as I arrived home so took the camera outside for some test shots. Quite a good display.

Very nice set of images I think i like the 3rd one best!
I would seriously think of toning down the foreground lit areas in the first two shots.
But thanks for share its always nice to see what other togs are shooting.

Thanks, they are only test shots to confirm that the aurora was present. I'm not planning on doing anything further with them so not bothered about the foreground lighting, although I do take your point.

Cool it wasn't a criticism and i realise they were only test shots but still lovely to be able to see and capture the aurora !
Im envious !

Nice shots. I understand that this is in Skye? If so is this a common site at this time of year?

Great set of images Marie, No fav's just all very nice to see.(y)

George.

It was a great show that night. I am near Knockhill and we could see something with the naked eye but not really the colours.

You captured the "pillars" well, not sure what the technical term is. Very jealous of your purples as we only got green.

Hi Marie, you probably wont remember me but I have been chasing the lights for a few years now and followed you advice. I have now finally got them on camera, NYE at John O'Groats and I could not be happier ... well unless they appear again next week when we are in Scotland again lol. Anyway, thanks for the advice you gave a few years back and for the inspiration :)
