Does the aperture you are using effect the speed of autofocus?
Have been quite successful with my E520 and V1 focusing on model gliders, however this week I was having difficulty focusing. At first I thought it was a problem with the camera and checked all my settings,(Focus mode etc) then the V1 was giving issues as well. It wasn't until after the session I thought about what I was doing different. I normally shoot on 1/1000th to freeze the model which can be going up to 150mph, because I havn't been very worried about image quality I have been shooting with a high ISO but lately I have tried to shoot at 100 ISO. Could this be affecting the speed of autofocus, any advice gratefully received.
I would of thought the wider open the lens the easier for the camera to focus
