Yes
hi went out again with kids no school
problem is my kit lens seems slow to focus i just tried my 2 primes they seem ok
it happened other night but i put it down to the cold
i have just got back and its does not want to focus keeps focusing in view finder but will not click and take the shot anyone got any ideas

Not at all familiar with Sony, but I suggest you look at the user manual to see whether there is a setting that prohibits shutter release until focus is acquired.

Why your lens is not focussing I do not know.
Try manual focus.

If everything is OK with your primes it does suggest a lens fault.

I'd go with arclights suggestion, check the priority release in the second menu and flip it between AF and release, then try manual.

ok right i set to defult just in case and its not right i can evern get it to take a shot in the house on auto setting
'
i have tryied it on another zoom 35-70 minolta and its the same
unless its the auto focus thats packed in and not the lens ?:bang:

In your first post you say it's ok with the primes so it can't be the camera, mine won't fire until af is reached though (didn't realise you could adjust it)

well i have checked it all again with a clear mind instead of rushing
its seems its the camera its not focusing right on the primes :dummy::dummy:

Which focus point are you using I always find the center point the most acurate, have you tried other af modes etc

yes its really doing my head in :bonk::bang:
i have decided back to shop it goes in morning does anyone know what the systerm with sont is or what happens its still under 12 months old
i dont want o go down the repair route
do i have a option ?
