Auto portrait

Evening everyone!
I have the settings on my 550d to auto rotate on my cameras LCD and the computer but they never do on the computer and I have to manually rotate them. Am I doing something stupid?

Not all software will see the rotation, things like DPP (canons own software) will and Lightroom should.

Thanks for that I have been previewing them using windows viewer so as you say probably doesn't see the rotation.

There may also be an option within Windows Viewer to batch-rotate your images (i.e. by selecting the relevant photos and then applying the rotation). Admittedly it's not as nice as having them auto-rotate, but it makes things a tad easier until you get software that recognises the in-camera rotation.
