Auto-scrolling problem in LR - memory issue?

Used Lightroom 2.5 on a laptop viewing station, and thumbnail images started auto-scrolling across the bottom horizontal panel after adding 500+ images in the catalog and lots of customers scrolling through. Presume a lack of memory issue, but perhaps something else? Any thoughts /fixes appreciated.

nope, but is that just a haunch or are you referring to a known issue?

first thing to try to be honest, the software is 2 versions out of date and the new one may contain fixes that resolves this issue.

yes, suppose so. I'll do an update later, but wait first to see if someone knows what the actual issue is exactly. Would be nice to understand why it happens. Thanks.

could be one of a thousand things to be honest, doesnt really sound like a memory issue. more a software fault but like i say that can easily be ruled out by making sure the software is up to date for starters.
