Hellooo,
Wednesday last week, I was getting ready to leave for Le mans, and I was taking my 365 picture, and I noticed that first time round, the AF didn't focus, I thought little of it, as it only happened once and I successfully took several other shots. Once at le mans, I noticed it again; and then again, and again... until it wouldn't automatically focus at all. Therefore, since thursday evening all my shots from le mans (totalling to 500 shots) were all taken in manual. Luckily the manual focus on the 450D isn't too hard to use.
Basically, when you put half the shutter button down, it does attempt to focus but almost sounds and looks like it might be jammed... Looking at it closely nothing seems to be blocking it, I've given the contacts a clean, and yet nothing. Does anybody have any suggestions on what it could be? Or how it might be fixable? Or is it another trip to a camera shop for repairs?
This isn't the first time a AF has gone on a lens with this body, another 100-200mm went late on last year... do you think these could be connected?
I have a canon 450D and the lens in question is the bog standard 18-55mm that comes with it!
Thanks for reading and any ideas would be massively appreciated!
