I was actually supposed to be doing an engagement shoot with her parents but I couldn't resist this shot of little Ava!

This is nice - Lovely colours, positioing in front of the flowers, and the right level of depth of field gives the separation. However I'm not sure what she's doing - her eyes lead me from the frame with nothing to look at - and without eye contact there's no engagement - for me. Did you get any others with other actions or her looking at you?

The second shot is definitely better. You've missed focus on her face in the first.

Thanks David, I am glad you prefer the second one although I don't see how much sharper I can get her face? I was about 40 feet away with a 70-200 IS at 200 mm This is a 100% crop from the RAW file?

That's pretty weird, maybe it's the upload then as her face looks pretty soft on my computer and tablet but the crop looks super sharp...
