average ebay price

I can give you the exact average price if you like? Hang on a minute.

The average used price over the last 60 days on ebay.co.uk is £97.43 with a average postage price of £4.33 and a sell through rate of 77.36%. The best time to end is 10-11am on a friday.

I've refined the search with a min price of £50 so it wouldn't include faulty/spare and now the average price is £117.

I pay for it. I run a ebay store so it pays to know whats hot n not, and what my competitors are doing.

However if you want to get an idea of what the price of a item is. Put your search terms in then refine the search i.e used, UK only for example, then go to 'advanced' to the right of the search button, then click 'completed listings'

That's interesting as I had (wrongly) assumed that would be a bad time as most people are at work and the majority of winning bidders bid in last few minutes.
I always set mine to end early evening but may need to forget that approach now.

THe funny thing is that "average" auction price does not really reflect the average price of the item if it was sold *in a usual way*. The winner of the auction is always (by definition) a high outlier, so auctions nearly always go hand in hand with "the winner's curse" ;)

Sorry- slightly off topic :)

Yes i've always ended my auctions in the evening too on a Sunday at 8pm usually, until i paid for the stats. The majority of products i have researched this week have a best end time at lunchtime 12 to 1 weekdays, and the busiest of them Monday and Friday. Office workers sitting and there desk having lunch I'm guessing.

Its cost my $240 but it paid for itself within 2 days. I set all my products to the average selling prices and i've doubled my sales since Monday!

Thanks for the bit of info about ending times, I have always thought that Sunday was the best but that is good info to know.
