Average resale age of a D700?

Yes
I've been browsing the Polish Ebay-like site, Allegro.pl and have noticed a lot of D700's on for sale with more or less these same features:
A little over 1 year old, usually 1.5yrs
Shutter count Between 9000 and 14000

So that places it a bit out of the 1yr guarantee yet a lot of people are selling with original receipts, boxes, accessories.

Is this a common thing to do with more pro-level bodies? Or am I just paying attention to weird coincidences?

Well most of the bodies I've ever sold had between 9-15k on the shutter, and that consisted of D70s/2 x D200 and D300. It's just because the inherent nature of being a gear freak, you always look for something new to buy and by the time you've found something at a decent price/justified it to yourself, you've only put 9k on the shutter...

Some people may have two and are selling one prior to an expected new model, people upgrading etc etc. There are often people selling bodies of that age but usually if they have reached that age unscathed they are usually good for years.

Now you've got me worried. I was thinking about getting one.

Lol,

I was just wondering as maybe there's something suspicious about this kind of behaviour that maybe someone had experience with.

But no worries, I'm still set on getting one ;)
