Aviation Photography With AIServo

Hi all

Just a quick question for those who use this or similar when shooting airshows etc. Is it normal when taking a series of shots when using AIServo to have some blurred images?

I use a Canon 7D M1 for a few years now and wonder if sometimes I am not using the AIServo correctly as when I have seen tutorials they turn the camera to AIServo and seem to track the subject clearly in every shot.

I know sometimes it's the light on the day and also shutter speed plays a part esp if panning with the aircraft, but majority of the time I do get a few blurred. My Canon is near the end of it's life as well and was thinking of the next camera to get for aviation so any recommendations would be good.

Yes fairly normal as long as you are not getting too many out of focus.

Using back button focus may help improve your keeper rate, if not already using.

As to new camera 7d mk 2 or 1DX mk 1 or 2
