is this filter worth having? some of the photo's I take are around midday time.

well B+W is top of the line manufacturer

what shots do you take....?

a C>PL is used to cut glare off reflective surfaces - water - including foliage

also deepens the blue sky when use at approx 90deg to the sun

can look funny on UWA shots as only a portion of the sky will see the effect of the filter
