.... or are they much of a muchness?

I want to get some UV and Cir Pol for my lenses and want them all by the same co.
Thoughts?

B+W are superior quality, if you have top notch lenses then they're the ones to go for.

.....try looking at this filter test, hoya pro1d come slightly ahead of b&w mrc

I've seen those results before Phil and something doesn't quite sit easy with me.
If you look at the actual tests for the first three filters, they all have a very pronounced dip in transmission right in the middle of the visible spectrum....absolutely no mention in the write-up though!
The B&W, although slightly less transmissive, is a reasonably flat line.
I believe that the marginally more light lost by the B&W is factored out by the metering in all but the most extreme lighting situations and is really a non-event.
Why haven't Lenstip made mention of the mid-spectrum fall-off....we can only guess at that one. I'm sure that the reason for the fall-off is Hoya's coating.

PS....I use B&W :D
