Hi,

Lost interest in photography quite a long time ago. Trying again now, Planning a safari next year so hoping that will be enough inspiration.

Welcome back

In regard to a safari......

There are a few of us here at TP that gone with Pangolin Photo Safaris and one possible benefit for you is that they provide loan camera gear for those without or indeed even those who decide not to lug their own gear.

IIRC they now have Canon mirrorless (that replaced their dSLR stock) and use Sigma 150-600mm lenses. Oh, they even provide memory cards too.
Note ~ the loan is free of charge and you keep the memory cards.
Note ~ they recommend you take a laptop for reviewing your images and (if you wish) to get editing advice.......though they major on Lightroom (FWIW I don't use Lightroom)

The photo host will also provide tuition as required.

Perhaps none too surprisingly such safaris are not cheap, though they do have offers during the 'green season' IIRC between November to March.

HTH :)

PS you may find the threads here of interest and inspiration

Hi Gary, welcome back, enjoy ;)

Hi Box Brownie,

Yes, I've see Pangolin on You Tube. Looks great. I do, however, need to think of the missus so will be taking a houseboat safari on the Chobe Princess. I think there may be "photography boats" kitted out with gimbals/swivel chairs. Not sure. Will also do three game rides with PK Safaris in Kruger NP, one of which will be with some tuition/guidance/help. Also three nights at Victoria Falls sandwiched in between. Not until next July/August but really excited about the trip.

I will look to hearing/seeing how you found it and enjoyed it.
