Back focus

Hi whilst home today (missus has swine flu and i wasnt feeling to good so was sent home in case) i was playing around and came to the conclusion that my kit lens back focusess quite badly wide open whereas my 50mm 1.7 is spot on, i did my test by putting the camera on the table and focusing on various objects between 4 and 5 feet away paced 2-3 inches apart and the kit lens always focused on the item behind where i was focusing whereas the 50mm was focused on the correct items.
I take it that it is just the lens and not the body and if so will sony repair it approx 5 months old

well 12 mth guarantee and you do not have to prove anything up to 6mths so yes
Have had the same with a Sigma took my test photos in they are replacing mine

generally flu like symptoms very hot sore throat etc they diagnose over the phone now and because she has heart problems they prescribed the tamiflu tablets pretty quickly
