Back focussing - What to do?

I've been having IQ issues with my Tamron 28-75 for some time and having done some recent tests, it's now back focussing 100% of the time. It's second hand, so the question is, is it worth having it calibrated or shall I just dump it? Does anyone know the cost of having these things done and how I'd go about doing it?

The lens cost me £200 and I'm wondering whether it's just worth getting another one, or a Sigma equivalent.

I know it's of no help to you but the D300 and above have micro focus adjustment to deal with just this. With Canon I think it's from 50d upwards.

Cheers for the responses, I may send it off for a quote. Having said that, I'm getting a D700 soon which is what it will be used on so if it has this micro adjustment thing, maybe I'll wait a while.
