Hey everyone.
Well I'm back from lovely sunny Cyprus, had a great time!
Went for my cousins wedding.
I brought my camera and got some photos of the wedding and Cyprus in general.

I'm going to give my cousin and new bride a disc of images from the wedding.
Need a bit of advice as to what size I should export them from Lightroom.
I usually set the Long Edge as 600 pixels and Resolution at 200ppi.
I want them to be able to use them for what the wish, however don't want to give the full size file as they won't fit on disc.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Ben.

Limit the file size to such that they will fit on to a CD/DVD although even at 10MB per file you'd need around 400 photos to fill a DVD.

Perhaps be a little more selective with what goes on the disc or buy a memory stick that will take all the images?

Thats true, it will take alot to fill a DVD, I haven't got loads.
Just wondered what sort of resolution I would be reasonable for viewing on a laptop or tv.

I resize to 800px longest edge and filesize no bigger than 150kb which is reasonable for viewing on a monitor/laptop but wouldn't be much cop for printing.

Depending on the quantity, I normally create a folder with "websized" images that can be uploaded to Facebook/online galleries and another set that have a maximum size restriction of say 4-5MB which could be printed to A4 (or maybe a little bigger) without any problems.

If anyone wanted to go mad and get a canvas printed you could always supply the image(s) on an ad-hoc basis?

Maybe I'll just resize to 800px on the longest edge and leave any other restrictions then. This will allow them to print some if they wish.

If they wanted any on canvas (can't imagine they will) I would sort that out for them.
