Backdrop and stand

Hi all,
I was asked by a friend to do some portrait shots of his baby girl.
I was reluctant at fist because I had never done it before, but as it turned out I enjoyed it.

The thing that I had issues with the most was lack of a backdrop.
Tried mocking one up out of a bed sheet

A few more people have now asked me to do similar so I want to invest in a cheep(ish) backdrop and stand.

I have seen a kit on e-bay for about £100 (stand & white muslin drop).

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a better deal for my money?

Cheers all

You could just get a big roll of card or something, shouldn't cost too much.

Just make sure it's fairly thick...

It's the holding up bit that is tricky. I'm lucky to have a conveniently located shelf in our spare room and I use a couple of clamps to attach the material. So far I've managed to get away with material that I got from Dunelm! (It's a fabric and homewares shop guys!) Total cost for black, white and some remnants of red silk....................about £25.
