Hi all, first post here! :D

OK, basically, I'm acquiring some new gear. What I need are recommendations for a backpack that can hold the following equipment:

Canon EOS 7D (ungripped)
Canon EF 100-400mm (hood reversed if necessary)
Canon EF 28mm
Flash
Memory cards, batteries, cables, CF card reader etc.
MacBook Pro 13"

Preferably, it needs to be something that looks like an ordinary backpack and doesn't yell "mug me" as I will be carrying this on public transport - and preferably something that isn't terribly bulky. Waterproof would be a bonus.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers mate! Just not really too keen on red though, might have to take a can of black spray paint to it.

Check out the classifieds I've got a crumpler big cheese for sale which will swallow all your equipment

I've recommended them before and I'd do it again- lowepro fastpack (350 if your case). I have the 350, used to have a 200 or 250. Mine holds a gripped D90 with 300/4 + 1.4x in the main 'compartment', though it is snug and pushing the length requirement (without the TC is fine). Then in the 4 side bits I have an SB600, 18-70, 10-20, 50 1.8, 35 1.8, and 55-200. There is still some space if you need it for chargers, adapters, etc if packed carefully. The small front pocket holds a cleaning cloth and USB lead. Ive also packed it with some cokins and a holder at times as well as some AA's. There are 2 small built in pockets for SD cards (might fit a CF). Of course there is the laptop pouch which I've fit 2 laptops into at times (work and personal).

All that plus room for lunch and more in the top compartment.

Mine is red, but they come in black.

Thanks,
Rick

I'm a big fan of the FStop Gear range, you can choose the size of bag and camera compartment to suit your needs.
