Backpacking Camera Setup

Hi,

I currently shoot Nikon D3s with various Nikon lenses but wanted to go lightweight option (for skiing and climbing photography in the high mountains) and have been thinking about the Canon 5d Mk 2 with 17-40mm. Whilst the D700 is good (I have had one before the D3s), it is quite heavy and I like the idea of the 21Mp chip for landscapes). I use the Nikon with a 20mm prime or sometimes with a 17-35mm.

Also, I usually use HDR for landscapes but understand that the Canon won't do full stop bracketing?

Just interested in people's thoughts. Thanks in advance

The 5D can bracket up to two stops up and down in half stop or third stop increments. It can only bracket three photos though if that's what you mean.

Argh! Thanks for the info. Seems like no good for HDR then. I might hang around and see what the new D700 will be - if it has 24mp sensor then that would be worth toting :-)
