I've just switched and decided the Nissin gun would odd me for the odd occasion I use ttl these days. I'm finding it a hit and miss affair though. I'm pretty sure I understand the concept of exposure compensation and flash exposure compensation, but the results I've had so far led to testing.

As far as I can see if I underexpose my scene by a couple of stops and fire of a test shot the add + flash compensation half a stop at a time on the gun nothing changes. I can only change by 1/2 stops, but still nowt. Am I missing something here?
 
Scott, I decided to do some more testing. Initially I tested with the flash direct and, to be frank, I'd have had better success doing it manually. The results are as above. I see no point in posting pictures as they're all the same.

It does seem to work a little better when bouncing and I can discern a difference in exposures when I adjust the gun.
 
No, Stu, I always (nearly) have it on matrix.
