I have a 5Dmk2 with 24-105, 70-200F4 and 580EXII. I've just moved up from a 450D/kit lens which resides in a small toploader that fits it perfectly.
A lot of my togging is done when we go out and about to various NT properties or out for the day with the family. We generally take some jumpers and other bits and pieces so end up taking a rucksack which the 450D/kit is placed into the rucksack inside the toploader. This works well, and I've also got a lens case for the 70-200 should I decide to take that along too.
I'm in two minds what to do now my kit list is growing. I'm thinking of either getting a bigger toploader for the 5D/lens (the Think Tank photo digital holster 20 springs to mind as it expands to contain the 70-200 attached too) and putting this in the rucksack or getting a dedicated rucksack for the equipment.
The problem with the rucksack is I haven't found one that seems to have a decenta mount of space for "other stuff". Most of the ones out there are either dedicated camera ones or mostly devoted to the camera. I'd be looking for something that could take the complete kit plus possibly the 450D and a 100mm 2.8 macro AND have as much room again on top for all the **** the family have to take with them. With the dedicated toploader, at least I can get a standard hiking day sack sized appropriately and just put the equipment in the bottom of it.
Anyone with any insight into largish rucksacks with a decent amount of space for everything else or should I just stick to the toploaders/lens cases?
