Apologies if this has been discussed before, but I've searched and drawn a blank.
I'm looking for a bag that will take my 7D with Canon 300mm f/4 lens attached with the hood extended. Reason being that I tend to take just this combo out with me and want to be able to transport it in a ready state for catching unplanned opportunities. The reason the hood is extended is I'm using a neoprene cover on the lens which goes over the extended hood.
It doesn't need much more storage in it for charger etc as it will all go in a separate bag.
I'm struggling to find anything that it will go in, and where they have been long enough they dwarf the camera in terms of width and height.
The closes I've found is a rigid microphone case but it is still not really suited to this purpose.
I'm sure I'm not the first person to want to do this so it shouldn't be reinventing the wheel!
