Hi have just got the Canon 300 2.8
Am looking for a holster type bag that will take the lens with hood on and 1.4 tc on a 7 D
Have found the think tank digital 50 will this take the body and lens with tc on camera with hood on ready to go?
My current lowepro bag will take lens on the 7d with hood reversed butI want to be ready to go:)
Have Googled but can't find much in the uk
There seems to be a few options in the usa but not available here

I think the think tank can take a 300 F4 lens & body , not sure it can take a 300 2.8 ,
I carry mine in a Tamrac Super Telephoto Lens Pack this can take a body & 1.4 with hood attached , Not a holster type but thats a heavy load and this handles it all fine !

Hope this helps

Thanks Ian thats great just what I was after:)
Wanted something to take the lens with hood on ready so I can just open the bag and go without faffing about putting the hood on :)

Just had a look on amazon looks just the job :)
Is there enough room in the accessories pockets to fit a 1.4 and 2x tc ?
Am browsing on my phone can't really tell from the pictures looks like there's spare storage space

Tamrac expedition 8x fits a body + 300/2.8 with hood out and also lens trekker 600aw

I carry a 1.4 in a Lowepro Lens Case 8 X 6cm and the 2x in a Lowepro Lens Case 9 x 9cm
morris photographic is a good place to look on line ( lowepro also do a large lens bag )
The small lens cases can attach to the sides of the bag !

Thanks Drew will have a look:)
Thanks Ian:)

The Think Tank Glass Taxi is great bag which held my 300/2.8 with a 5d2 attached. Never tried it with the TC too though.

EDIT - I currently have the Lowepro Flipside 500 which holds a 500mm f4 with 5D2 attached. Plenty or room for other bits and bobs too.

I've been looking for a bag to take a Nikon 300 2.8 ready to go and I've discovered there aren't many. Once set up with the hood and a 1.4x its about the same size as a 600mm.

Bags I've looked at are the f stop tilopa with an xl ICU and there's a few lowepros that will take it. There's also the gura gear bags but I don't fancy the off set weight.

My setup is about 18in long with the hood, TC and camera in place for shooting for comparison.

TT Glass Taxi can't take the 300 with the hood in shooting position.

I use a LowePro 600AW. It easily takes the 7D, TC, 300 + hood - all ready to shoot. I use Sliplok bags to carry other things (other lenses, TCs, Binoculars, etc.) Internal length is 61cm (24" in old money).

Looks like a good solution, it's quite cheap too compared to most the bags I've been looking at. Probably stops you taking the kitchen sink with you also I'd imagine?

Well, several of the big Sliplok cases, in place of the Walkstool/Monopod on one side, and it's surprising just how much one can carry around.

I'm fairly sure the think tank 50 will not take the combo...

Thanks everyone it looks like a choice beyween the Loweprow 600aw and the tamrac super telephoto lens pack:)
At the moment im using my Lowepro computreker bag it does fit just but have to have hood reversed
The ability of both the tamrac and Lowepro telephoto bags to take extra bags strapped on looks really good too:)

Just had another thought can you get a sliplock bag big enough to take a small body and short zoom (550D and 70-200F4) I may need to sometimes take both but don't want to get a huge bag that takes both just for the odd occasion that I will use both lenses:)

How about a couple of sliplock lens cases. one with the body and the other holding the f4.

One each side.

Thanks Mike that's a good idea
Sorry for delay replying our Internet is down browsing TP on my phone now :)
