bag for storage, not transport

Hi Guys,

All of the threads on bags address bags to carry your camera around or travel with. I've not see anyone discussing bag for storage of general camera equipment which is what I'm looking for. I normally keep all of my lenses and body in my backpack (lowepro fastpack 300), but that leaves filters, holders, etc sitting around. When I don't want to carry everything in my pack on a daytrip, I have to leave everything sitting around. Are there any bags designed for plain storage of all your extra lenses and bits? I was thinking something like a semi firm duffel bag with dividers in it (like the bottom of my fastpack, but 3-4x the size). Maybe 12" x 30" x 20" deep? I don't want a hard sided case like a peli, just something simple to throw the extras in.

Thanks
Rick

Hi Rick,

You could take a look at the Tamrac EXPEDITION X9, Its a huge bag with heaps of space.

Buy a good quality duffel/sports bag and then buy dividers on ebay and customise your own.

FStop ICUs are ideal, I either put the larger one in the bag, or take kit I want out and put it in the small ICU in my bag.

I have a large old Billingham Camera bag( similar to 335 and now on ebay, cheap ) that I used to store my DSLR gear in. Now sold all that though, hence the sale of the bag.
Or maybe one of the large KATA backpacks. You can store loads in those
Are you looking for something like that?
