Bag Suggestions for 5DII with 24-70L Fitted?

95% of the time I use the 24-70L on my 5DII and wanted to source a bag that will pretty much just fit that combination, with the lens fitted.

I have a Crumpler which is "just" a little too small for it to be comfortable (I've used it a few times but it's tight on the front-to-back length of camera + lens) and would rather a better fitting one.

So does anyone carry their 5DI or II with the 24-70L lens around in a bag, and if so what do you recommend?
 
Hi there Jon. I carry my gripped 50D + 24-105L in a Kata DC-441, and can also fit a flash in. I would think that a smaller model down the range will be a good fit for your needs, ie. DC-435/437/439. I also have a Kata backpack style bag for carrying more gear, and can attest to them being very well made and hard wearing. If you fancy the retro canvas stylee, then the same body and lens ungripped fits perfectly into a small Billingham Hadley Digital bag. Both of these bags take the body with lens attached and hood attached reversed.

I use a Billingham f2.8 for walkabout, for 5D2 (plus L-bracket) and 24-105L. Lovely bag :) I can also slip a flash gun in there too, so it should suit your 24-70L quite well. I've also got an Avea pocket - slips on either end - which expands it usefully as and when.

Check out the Lowepro Altus 120 and 140. They seem to be being sold off really cheap at the moment, like £10-15, and they are really nice bags. For video I think, but take a big DSLR and lens nice and snug. I've got one, but prefer the little bit of extra space in the Billingham.

I also spotted one of these the other day - an old style ER case! It fits a 5D2 + 24-105L, but your big lump might be too long. Superb, thanks... have a larger Billingham for the whole kit so the idea of a smaller one for camera/lens and maybe flash a great idea so will look into that :thumbs:
 
Tamrac bags are worth a look, I have one and a Lowepro and I wouldn't waste cash on a Lowepro again.
 
Doing a bit of measuring I've just ordered a Billingham f2.8 from 1st Cameras Imaging centre (cheapest price I could find from reputable place) as it will go nicely with my bigger Billingham :thumbs:
