Bag with decent tripod holder

I use a Kata 3N1-30, which has a detachable tripod pouch and strap. The tripod carrier is an extra @£15. The bag is very comfy in backpack config for lugging gear, and converts to slingpack in seconds once on site.

FStop gear, their bags are pretty flexible for carrying tripods, either on the sides or back.

They're designed for adventure sports photographers, so plenty of people ski/mountain bike with their bags, including tripods strapped to them.

You'd probably be best checking out reviews as I just have a normal RedSnapper tripod, rather than a particularly long one.

+1 for F-Stop. I use a Tilopa (my review is here).
At that particular time I carried the tripod in the centre but nowadays prefer to have it on the side. The compression straps hold it in and the wand pocket at the bottom makes a perfect locating point for the legs. For hill use, it cannot be beaten.

If you decide to go for F-Stop they do fast flast rate delivery from European warehouse or Paramo are now distributing in UK. I believ they have them at their London shop. Good luck.

Too late now, but in case anyone does a search, my advice is medium and small, as you can use them together in the larger bags, so it's a bit more flexible.

For me, in the Tilopa I started with large and then dropped down to medium as I could squeeze the phot stuff in and wanted more room for big coats and pies in winter.
