This fella kept landing on our balcony and wasn't nervous so grabbed the camera and he let me shoot away. Think it's a wood pigeon but perhaps just a pigeon..........?

Took my D300 away with me & my lightweight/cheap Nikon 55-200 which performs OK given light. Not as sharp as my heavier lenses but it travels well! Taken from only around 10' away and was at 200mm on the crop sensor. Shot RAW and did a contrast boost, sharpening and added a slight vignette PP.

Collared doves are lovely creatures, very friendly. This is an excellent shot.
