No
I saw this on the FB feed and wondered how it may compare to other such ball heads???

It is described as a 'counterbalance ballhead' but there is no counterbalance visible in the traditional sense.

I wouldn't call it a ballhead perse; it's a 2 way pan tilt. Basically, it's a Flexshooter Mini without the outer leveling/ballhead function. That's why they offer it with a leveling base, or with a tripod with a video bowl... it really needs to be (mostly) leveled for use.

Heads with a fixed counterbalance (like the Flexshooter and video heads) work best with a long sliding plate, so you can offset the camera's center of gravity to match with the fixed counterbalance for each particular situation. That's probably why they show a longer plate on the lens.

if you watch one of the videos on the site, you see at about 6 secs, the base of the ball head is also a partial ball and socket.

That's the video bowl ball of the K32 tripod they are offering with it for another $219. I do like that it's friction mechanism is on the side of the apex instead of a handle that extends below.
